Conflict of Generations

There were fairy tales that began with “Once upon a time…” Some amuse and some sadden.

Some fairy tales give wisdom, some make us find wisdom.

In fact, all of them are a treasure, passed down from generation to generation; our tales, proverbs, and idioms... Our cultural heritage, which is embedded in our language.

And then there were our elders who had a maxim for every occasion.

We had wise elders who were like a guide to proverbs and idioms, punctuating every conversation with an idiom.

On the other hand, we had grandmothers who would say sentences ending with “Was it like this in our time, my child?” Who often lamented the “Gen Z” in fashionable terms.

Gen X, Y, Z... Changing from generation to generation like destinations of a journey.

“What if you went through what I had went through?” “One day, you will understand when you become a parent.” So why do our elders always complain and why do the little ones never understand them? Is it the conflict between generations or is it our perspective on those who are different from us?

Our grandmothers, who have worked and strengthened themselves in every aspect of life, have grandchildren who say, “Enough is enough, I can't bear the burden of this life anymore!” In the past, our names were written on bakery trays, now they are written on our coffees in famous cafes. Beauty used to be in a woman's grace, in her looks, in her kindness, but what has happened today that all this has been replaced by lips, face, and eyes?

Why has each generation become a friend to itself and an enemy to the other? Why is it that our relationships used to be so much better and closer, but now they are so distant? Doesn’t a woman understand the child he gave birth to? Or can't a son talk to the one who raised him?

There must be a way to understand, to explain, to reconcile. We are all on the same earth, at different times, suffering from the same problems. Since Adam and Eve, what human beings are sad about, what human beings are happy about, has not changed. It is not because we were created with different equipment that today's children do not like toys and throw them away, while our parents used to play forty different games with their stone cars and dolls. People claim everything they have worked for. People are the same people, even if they are children, the price they pay for their toys is not the same. Otherwise, just as rain falls on the ground in the same way for centuries, people react similarly to similar events.

When human beings realize this, what we tell each other will no longer be fairy tales. Three apples will fall from the sky, one for Gen X, one for Gen Y, one for Gen Z.

  1. If people had been raised in the same way throughout history, they would have reacted similarly, and thus different generations would not have emerged.

  4. In fact, God's laws are the same at all times, and mankind is the same, the only difference is the possibilities. Since the current generation lives in a fake world, they are thought to be different. As long as the truth is lived, in fact, all people are the same at all times and in all geographies.

  5. “What are we truly passing down from one generation to the next in this life?
This is a beautiful piece to reflect on what we are truly transferring today. Thank you for your efforts.”
